FREE - 10 Week literacy and numeracy courses.

FREE - 10 Week literacy and numeracy courses  provided by Haringey Council.

Haringey Adult Learning service (HALS) are providing a series of free courses to help adults with their literacy and numeracy skills. These are a series of 10 week courses which begin in January 2010. The course levels range from beginners through to intermediate and advanced.

If so come along to Wood Green Central Library for a free assessment or you can ring 0208 489 2500 to book an assessment.

HALS last OFSTED inspection report commented: Learners make good progress in acquiring speaking and listening skills and make significant gains in confidence. For example, one learner had gained sufficient self-esteem from a short numeracy course at Level 1 to enable progression to a counselling course. Learners enjoy their learning and talk positively about the new ways they are able to take part in community life, talk to their childrenâ??s teachers and gain employability skills.
